You’ve probably noticed that some of your favourite fashion lovers have traded in their dainty gold layers and opted for a single chunky chain instead, well, get ready to see it everywhere because bold necklines and chunky chains are about to the be the next accessory tidal wave!

The style was impossible to miss during New York Fashion Week with Chunky Chains popping up on runways like Gucci, and Chanel, not to mention on many of the stylish attendees of NYFW. Even the fashion overlords of Vogue have deemed Chunky Chains “of the moment” and that “bigger is better in terms of links”. Similarly, Who What Wear touted the "return of statement jewelry", adding that "this season, if your accessories have a chain on them, you're doing something right". I couldn't agree more.

Gone are the days of diminutive necklaces in a tangle of charms and chains, now is the time for striking chains, one big enough to balance out our bulky knitwear and the turtlenecks that seem to be a new fashion mainstay. I for one couldn’t be happier. After so many seasons of the same barely-there necklaces, Chunky Chains feel like a breath of fresh air and the perfect way to look stylish and of-the-moment with very minimal effort.
It's also a great way to look luxe for less!

Choose your flavour!

This new larger link movement isn't exclusive to necklaces, one of the hottest new trends being championed by editors and influencers is wearing a chunky chain bracelet layered over top of shirts and sweaters, creating a dynamic blend between outfit and accessory. Chunky chains have also shown up dangling from earlobes, in both short and bold, and long shoulder-grazing styles.

Whether you tend towards silver or gold tones, prefer to adorn your ears, neck, or wrists, I’ve got you covered with loads of options in the shop!

Two trends are better than one, and I can't think of anything better than a big beautiful pearl combined with a bold, large link chain.

NYFW Trend Report

The 3 top styles to invest in according to NYFW

For the past few days all eyes have been on the streets of New York to see what new styles are emerging on the Runways of New York Fashion Week, and on the streets as it-girls, influencers and celebs flood the streets while running from show to show. Here's a roundup of the top three trends to watch...

Bright and Bold

Color me happy! Bright jewel tones and bold color pairings have been on nearly every runway so far! Bold patterns and bright hues are about to be everywhere so channel your inner Romy and Michelle and put the fun back into your fashion sense.

All about Earrings

Statement Earrings still have a huge presence (pun intended) in all the trend forecasts. While hoops are still a go-to fav, a new staple style is emerging in the form of shoulder dusters! These long earrings are both youthful and elegant and breathe a fresh breath into any look from formal wear to your favourite jeans. For those afraid to take the plunge aim for a pair that hit around the bottom of your jawline but, if you're brave enough, go for something that hangs right down to your shoulder! It may seem intimidating but this new style is fun and flattering and definitely has some staying power. The Chain Gang

Chain Belts are back in a big way! I may be biased (I LOVE chain belts!) but this trend has been a long time coming. From Western style to 80s Lux, this look is versatile and fresh, and suitable for all body types! Wear them tight to cinch your waist a lá Escada or, as shown on the Carolina Herrera runway, wear it slung low and loose around your hips for a more laid back 70's boho look. Chain Belts are a style I've been exploring for a while now but my newest style is quickly heading to the top of my best-sellers list, check out the new Ryder Belt HERE
